Lines of rumination adorned his brow
Like grooves sculpted on sand by frothy waves
Eyes fixed on the virgin path
Ears hearing pleas from deep-dug graves
Life played one of its heinous tricks
Curbed passion, left no stone unturned
To wipe out smiles and hearty laughs
Leaving confidence misplaced and over-run
Ruined were dreams, the lamp went out
The gusty wind put out the flame
One moment saw the whole life thrive
The next winessed it shrinking in shame
Those eyes that spoke a thousand words
When the rose bud lips refused to bloom
Pearly tears in coral eyes
That dripped down the long lashes, in gloom
Like balmy buds of April, shone
Her cheeks that blushed when she said his name
Blonde curls fell gently to shoulders fair
Weakening him, making his resistance lame
With fingers entwined, they walked the woods
And eyes in eyes, sat by the waterfall
Every second of isolation felt like eternity
And the enormous universe seemed so small
Those eyes are closed, the lips speak no more
And the tears have long since dried, past care
While the heart still sheds ruby drops of pain
From the wounds that still remain fresh and bare
The graves speak out, for the two lost souls
The passionate saga, sung in a trance
Of the gentle feet, which would never tread that path
Of the cruel life, which won't give another chance.
