Hey Ram(dev) : The Satyagraha Scramble ©

Baba Ramdev sat on his couch after Yoga and switched on the TV and surfed channels. Suddenly his
stubby fingers stops on the remote on:

Channel #1: a news channel – people were hurling whatever they found in
their vicinity at others, shouting the dirtiest unparliamentary lines—undoubtedly, it was our very own
Indian Parliament.

Baba Ramdev’s (already sunken) stomach sank (further)! Had humans become so
corrupt, so wild?
Channel #2:  Poonam Pandey doing some
sensual excercises, her negligible apparel just shy of the nooks and crannies that could make any Baba
forget their Yog and start drooling.

Channel #3: Little framed feeble Anna Hazare was fighting a lost battle of Fighting Corruption.

What happened later, follows here:

Bivouac ©

“Mama, are there playgrounds in heaven?
Merry-go-rounds, see-saws, swings?
Are there ice lollies? Clownfishes and mollies?
Or butterflies with colourful wings?

Remember , I told you last birthday
I wanted that pink dress in the mall?
Don’t buy it at all, it’s way too small
To last even till this year’s fall.

I know, there’s no Santa Claus;
It was you who dressed up every year,
Rolling and rocking, filling my Christmas stocking,
Watching my face light up with cheer.

I’m feeling sleepy, my eyes are closing,
But I want to say Thanks to you.
For those dresses and dolls, colouring books at the mall,
For those marbles of every colour and hue”.

She listened to her daughter silently
Witnessing the fateful sight.
She was way too far from bold, to believe her six year old
Would not make it through the night.

“Papa’s waiting up there, there’s loads of work to do.
I’ll have to recite to him my latest rhyme
Then we’ll decorate the home up there and wait for you…”
So saying, she closed her eyes for the last time.

Nothingness ©

Sordid mornings, Scorched nights
Loved ones out of sight
Deserted hallways, abandoned meadows
Misty eyes, disappearing shadows
I’m Lost!
Now I can’t be found…
Even if searched all around
This is beyond the usual dimensions
Above all the predestined directions
No pains, no pleasures…
No rat race for hidden treasures
I’m Alone!
Can’t bear it anymore….
Don’t fear it anymore…
I’m trapped in this Matrix
Life’s playing dirty tricks….
But somewhere from far…
Perhaps through a door left ajar
I hear voices… the memories left behind
In which, some joy I did find…
But, the moment, I try to reach for them
They disappear, abandoning me in this mayhem.
Alas! I hate to confess
I’m being sucked into the black hole of nothingness.

You Are Everywhere ©

In the glint of the the first sunbeam,
In the pleasures of the lazy noonday dreams,
In nature's orchestrations of tumultous rains,
In the extremities of joys and pains,
In the naivety of blowing dandelion wishes,
In the memories of innocent, amateur kisses,
I see you, because you're always there,
I see you, because you dwell everywhere,
I see you, because we can never be apart,
I see you, because you are in my heart.

I know, it's you when the wind ruffles my hair,
I know, it's you when I face the sun's glare,
I know, it's you when the stars wink at me from the sky,
I know, it's you when my heart soars up high,
Because you are the wind, caressing me all along,
Because you are the sun humming to me a wondrous song,
Because you are my naughty star winking away,
Beacuse you'll be my love, my life, my angel, come what may......

Directionless ©

Dunno what to do
Can’t figure out
Where did I go wrong?
Dunno where I belong

When did the laughter actually end?
My life’s intruded……
By true enemies and false friends
Where did the happiness fade?
It was right here with me
Few moments ago, like a blessing overhead

From where did Confusion embark?
It’s so suffocating and dark…..
I’ve done all that was possible
Isn’t my need for some understanding plausible?

I can’t please just everyone………
My life’s a living Hell
Has anyone realized
That someone has to please me as well?

Can anyone hear me? I’m dying down here
Everything's obscure, I’m falling for sure………
My world’s absolutely ablaze
I see someone beckoning me through that haze………

Who is it? Some Savior? Some Guardian Angel?
Rescuing me from this hell………
Or maybe it is just a mirage…….
Sprung out of the caverns of imagination
The long since nourished fascination………..

I’m still waiting….. Time is of the essence……….

Reverie ©

I feel you strangely close
Is this a romantic overdose?
Your warm whispers of sweet nothings ring in my ear
Dormant, distant pleasures awaken and come near
Your intense gaze makes me shudder in anticipation
Is this the start of some forbidden fascination?
I know not, my love, I know not…….
Your lips wearing that dazzling smile
Makes me palpitate, in a dazed beguile.
Can I hold your hand forever?
And vow to abandon it never?
Your simple touch conveying your omnipresence
In my life, without any pretence…..
Come to me, love, set me free
I’m waiting for almost an eternity…………….

Ambiguous Cogitations ©

This road seems never to end....
Every step takes me closer to my origin...
DUST THOU ART, TO DUST RETURNEST..... wasn't it said?
Every day ends , bringing me a few more thousand seconds closer to death....
The evil inside me never sleeps.
I've turned into an Insomniac
I don't want to drift into somnolence
Because no sooner do I close my eyes,
than I'm tormented by murderous, formidable visions...
Which are yet fantastical,
yet seem so real, so ALIVE!
Springing out of some neglected, forbidden corner of my mind....
Startling me, shattering me, trying to strangle me and ensnare me into its deadly clutches...
Forcing me to open my eyes again in sheer shock!
Why should I close my eyes in the first place, then...?
Should I sleep only to be agonized by perilous nightmares?
NO!!!;
I can't do this to me.
Can't let it feast on my fears and strenthen itself...
Can't let it weaken me anymore....
Can't let it overpower and contol me, even if it's too strong for me to fight it.....

If it carries on, there will come a time
When, at the end of the day, I look at the mirror,
A completely different person would stare at me, straight into the eye....
Compelling me to question..
Who is this...... and...
WHO AM I ??????????

Topic: What is this world, if full of care?
We have no time to stand and stare

Before I start justifying this statement of W.H. Davies, let me elucidate a conversation that I overheard. It was of two pre teenagers in a park.
1st Child: “Wish if we could reduce the frequencies of our radio-cum-transmitters and share secret tech-linked messages”
2nd Child: “That’s boring; I wish I could annihilate my neighbour’s house with my new antimatter samples I made last night in my laboratory”.

If taken into consideration, the time is not far when every child will talk in high-tech language as cited above. Or maybe, this is just an iota of the actual paroxysm of tech-craze that is creeping up in our society very rapidly. The modern world is completely mechanized, be it in our language, be it in our behaviour or be it in the inventions and discoveries. One gets so many facilities nowadays. Through one webcam of a computer that is connected to the internet, a man sitting in the Sahara region can look at, can communicate with those sitting in the Arctic as if the actual distance is just a few metres. But of course, there is always a dark side of the moon and in this case, it is of the negligence of man towards his root, his origin—the Nature.
The beauty of nature is what lacks in the present times. What man fails to realize is that, there are still many things in the world except gizmos, gadgets, advanced electronic equipments and many more. He fails to understand that it is we who belong to nature and not the nature that belongs to us. Francis Bacon very appropriately quoted, “Nature, to be commanded, must be obeyed”. And here’s where the issue of man taking nature for granted is concerned.

No one can remember a single day in his life when he has not compared or related a normal happening or a very simple issue into its mechanized version of interpretation. We have become slaves of science. We fail to realize that it we who made Science and not the Science that made us. But taking into consideration, all that happens now proves the fact that we are enslaved by science and it is the scientific technologies and high-tech systems that is manipulating us, overpowering us and crushing us into mere working models of human robots. But this is not what should actually happen. To prove this statement, there are a few words that Lincoln spoke, “If slavery is not wrong, nothing is wrong”. Man needs the soothing touch of nature. The very feeling that there is an aura of the forces of nature around us is so invigorating. But does man seem to understand that he would never be able to sense this invigorating power if he is so wrapped up in the intricate calculations of the demonic craze that creeps up in his mind every second?
The answer is clear and shocking in its simplicity—NO. We know, to stop technical and mechanical development is not possible. But then, we can at least bring about a change in the other side of the bitter truth that exists among us --- paying more attention to nature. It is we who have come up with solutions when our path is dogged by these kinds of difficulties. A pensive mind quoted, “It is always a struggle to get the system working. But you lose only if you give up”.

But who wants to struggle now? We all search for ‘smoother walks to stray’ in our lives. After all, this is the reason why we take so much pain to get more mechanized, so that we can have some rest. What remains of nature now? The beauty of sunrise and sunsets has been reduced to wavelengths and frequencies. The coolness of the wind is forgotten and instead, they have started measuring it by anemometers. Even the colours of the rainbow, the beautiful spectrum is made lifeless and boring by interpreting it as different varieties of frequencies and wavelengths, merging one with the other, subtracting one from the other. Nature gave rise to matter, but people, now make antimatter and matter annihilate to cause mass destruction. It was the scientific technology that once gave rise to the formation of lethal weapons like atom bombs and such. And if we look at how much destruction has been caused, it shall make our blood curl with fear. The obliteration that was caused on 9/11 was also supported by high-tech lethal machineries. The simplicity is gone and it is the mechanized version of the simplicity of simple thing that exists. We have forgotten the idea of ‘simple living and high thinking’. In the “Tragic Sense of Life”, Miguel de Unamuno had said, “True science teaches, above all, to doubt and to be ignorant” and this statement is correct to the fullest. In a nutshell, science contradicts every natural happening and the simplest of things into an intricate, mechanized and complicated explanation. After all, the prevalence of the atrocities in the present world is attributed to science. But in no such example, in no such case it is proved that Nature has been misused or has been interpreted as something with which one can harm the other. What remains in the world now other than people feverishly working on their computers, laptops, and palmtops; searching, downloading, printing out, researching on it, drawing some conclusion out of it and then again searching for something new and scientific, colourless as a dry parchment that would have them intrigued. Now it’s high time we should cultivate the mantra of ‘stop spending and start mending’ in ourselves. If one wants to divert his mind from his hectic schedule to beauty of nature, he should not be discouraged by the majority (of the people who are techies and very science-oriented) because sometimes, the majority only means all fools on one side! After all, what else is man but a fool if he fails to realize the correct interpretation of the simplest things he finds everyday?

There is an adage by Linnaeus: “Nature doesn’t proceed by leaps”. It waits, it watches and then, moves further. It is not frantically groping for conclusions everywhere. Though secretive and mysterious, it is so soothing, so caring. Just like our mother, it caters to our needs and necessities, but do we ever express our gratitude to it? Will we ever stop taking it for granted? The answer though is NO presently, but we can, of course, make a change. We can change this heinously strong NO to a beaming, successful and powerful YES. All we have to do is to pay a little more importance to nature, which is a non-renewable resource to retain its beauty and power. Though a lot of time has passed, we can, of course put a foot forward to help Mother Nature before its too late keeping in mind an adage, “If it is to be, it has to be me”.

Betrayal ©

She stood, yes, there she was,
Waiting for her beloved prince
The love of her life, her heartthrob
Would come riding, riding, riding…..
On his chestnut coloured horseWith a golden mane.

There she was, on the topmost turret
Her bright blue eyes eyeing the path
As far as their vision could reach.
Lost in thought, she saw herself
Being escorted onto the beast
By none but her beloved, who would come.

The beautiful bird, chirping sweetly
Flew to her and said, “Oh bonny bride,
Thy prince won’t come, give up”.
But she shooed it away, for it disturbed
Her blithe anticipation of herself
With her prince who would come.

The cool, soothing wind
Swept across her face wildly
Desperate, to untie the blindfold.
For yes, she was surely blinded by love,
Engrossed in her daydream, awaiting
Her prince who would surely come.

The golden disc much, much above the turret
Tried to obstruct her gaze with its rays
But she shielded herself with her hands
And continued to stare at the path
The chestnut horse would tread,
The prince, her beloved would come.

Alas! He did not come.
He betrayed his bonny bride
Who was gazing intently at the path
By which he would come, set her free
And fly off with her
To some unknown, magical land.

She stood still, pestered by the birds, the wind,
The golden disc with its scorching rays.
Her eyes filled with pearl like tears
Her feet ached, her forehead throbbed.
She was losing balance; her eyes were finally closing….
She could not stop them, she felt light.

There she was, lying on the ground
Her eyelids, promising never to open again
Her rose red lips, vowing never to utter
The honey sweet words she said to her prince
She was an angel, for sure.
She had a bright halo around her head
The sanguine halo of her own blood
Around those blonde curls soaked in the crimson tide.
Never to be caressed by her prince again
The treacherous lover, who never came.

Should I? ©

Should I wither away as the fallen petals of roses do
once they kiss the earth?
Should I, like the sands of time, get blown away by treacherous winds
into the vast extemities...?
Should I shed tears akin to the pearly ones
dropped by the fluffy eyes of heaven?
Should I waste away, like the surly morns
heralding the monotonous routines of busy nothings....?
Should I, just stare at you and say nothing of
what my heart's welling up with at present?

Maybe I should abandon you right here, right now
and rid u from the clutches of my ingrafted love.
Maybe I should just let you know that you will never be gone
no matter how firmly you believe that u've left me....
Maybe, I should just shut you out, drive you away from
the soft corner of my heart....

Maybe I should......
...or, should I?

Dear Beloved ©

It didn't require an impetus
I realize, it was merely a realization
And everything changed, changing you, changing me
Transfornimg us into immortals who were
talked about in legends and fantasies

But this is real!
You have me, And you're all I have
And I care not about the worldy opinions....
For that one kiss of love Immortalized that dormant feeling
Dissipated hesitant anticipations
And rebelliously rendered you all mine

I know not what tomorrow would bring
Whether it'd fulfil our endless vows to each other
Or bring about a lovelorn fate of romantic deprivation
I live in the present and perceive
Bask in your warm embraces
Blush due to your intense, loving gaze
Palpitate in you gentle caresses

No matter how far you are, my love
When you stare at the moon and sigh,
The breeze would carry it
and sweep my hair across my face
And I'll believe, you've touched me.

When you challenge the sun's rays
And a cloud'd obstruct your gaze,
Be sure, it's my hand
that has sheilded your eyes....

When a raindrop trickles down my forehead
touching my eyes, reaching my lips,
I'll believe you've touched mine
With yours....

And whenever we breathe
We'll feel like earthen vessels
In which life's being intermittently breathed
By each other.

For deep down Inside, I know
Your heart beats for me
And you are the reason I live.

Deja Vu ©

Lines of rumination adorned his brow
Like grooves sculpted on sand by frothy waves
Eyes fixed on the virgin path
Ears hearing pleas from deep-dug graves
Life played one of its heinous tricks
Curbed passion, left no stone unturned
To wipe out smiles and hearty laughs
Leaving confidence misplaced and over-run

Ruined were dreams, the lamp went out
The gusty wind put out the flame
One moment saw the whole life thrive
The next winessed it shrinking in shame
Those eyes that spoke a thousand words
When the rose bud lips refused to bloom
Pearly tears in coral eyes
That dripped down the long lashes, in gloom

Like balmy buds of April, shone
Her cheeks that blushed when she said his name
Blonde curls fell gently to shoulders fair
Weakening him, making his resistance lame
With fingers entwined, they walked the woods
And eyes in eyes, sat by the waterfall
Every second of isolation felt like eternity
And the enormous universe seemed so small

Those eyes are closed, the lips speak no more
And the tears have long since dried, past care
While the heart still sheds ruby drops of pain
From the wounds that still remain fresh and bare
The graves speak out, for the two lost souls
The passionate saga, sung in a trance
Of the gentle feet, which would never tread that path
Of the cruel life, which won't give another chance.

The First Downpour ©

An unruly gust of wind
The first drop of elixir on the craving, parched streets
The smell of moist earth
The steamy sighs of gratitude and relief of the rugged, scorched land
The rhythmic swing of trees in sync with Mother Nature's orchestration...

Finally, it rained.

Smoothened all the eneven edges,
Welled up within, emotions insung, unheard....

This is a night of mellifluous confessions
Of silent hearts dripping with love.
This is a night to forgo the past,
To embrace a new begining ahead.
This is a night to rejoice
The coolness outside and within.

This is a night to admire
A night to stay transfixed,
To let the time stand still
To feel raindrops on the window sill
To listen to the crickets chirping softly heralding rest and love
To watch the fireflies shaking heaven's tears of their luminous countenances

This is a night to let the smiling heaven watch us fall asleep...
A night to celebrate,
The First Downpour of rain...

Eternal Love ©

I have entwined my soul to yours
With the enchanted strings of melody
You have been gifted to me from above
For some unknown, unsung prayer by me.

The prayer in which diffuses
The fragrance of lilies in spring
The yearning in which fly in
A poet's sonnet with magical wings

You are unaware, my love
Sheltered under the rainbowed sheath
Lies your name imprinted upon my heart
That resounds everytime I breathe

I replace the balmy sun'swarmth
By your countenance, which in my heart I did hide
The wind blows into the flute of nature
And spreads unearthly tunes far and wide

Through the golden, shimmering haze, I see you shine
Your heart vibrating in tranced melody
Unrestrained, it brims full of purest love
Filling our insides with ecstacy...

Mind's Lore ©

A realization is all it needs
Yet the mind fails to decipher
The simplest of thoughts....
Love, as we have learnt
Has the most natural touch
But, of late, it seems
All these tales are but a lie.

No drop of rain, nor glowing moon
Do raise a tempest of emotions within
The sun's first ray feels pale and cold
And the dewy mists are but an illusion.
The radiant flame doesn't sire a hope,
Instead, sets the heart ablaze
With black fires that scatter within
Phantoms of dark luminosities.

The heart stops beating for a while
For it's weary of the yoke of thoughts
That arise in the mind and pose a strife
To the frail vessels of emotions enclosed,
Veiled and concealed, for fear they might get shattered
By the sullen demons of Melancholy's file
All the sweetness has dissipated into oblivion
Loneliness embitters the dying heart
True Love's a lie and to love is to sin
Love is for souls unsure of their urges
Indistinct and vague emotions confusing them

All is well of one casts aside

These lethalities and embraces the MIND.

Enchanted Love ©

When the haloed orb does shy away
Behind auburn clouds in the sky so grey
When a lone star twinkles for eternity
And a meteor shoots in euphoric spree
Your hands are cusped around my arms
Spellbinding me in enchanting charms
Your eyes fixed on mine in such loving a stare
And your fingers caressing strands of my hair

When the entirety is numbed but two hearts beat
When your whispers of sweet nothings sweep me off my feet
I sense a confluence of the earth and the sky
Serene vitalities befuddling pains and triggering high
When our trembling lips unite and souls entwine
When two hearts vibrate in a resonance divine
When missing pieces are found and completions embark
And Love's annihilation dispels the insecure Dark

I see our lifes ablaze with tender a fire
That soothes the insides and joyful spirits sire
And binds us in holy union, a bond so strong
That would deepen emanating love and care all life long.
